The Unworldly World Of Lucky Ali

The melodious music, the guitar, the soulful voice… This combination is rare to be found in only a few songs. Sometimes the lyrics become secondary when such a combination is heard in Lucky Ali’s voice. His rugged voice usually makes me skip a beat when it combines with guitar.

Does that ever happen to you that you listen to a song and want to cry tears of love? This love cannot be defined because it is something that does not belong to this world. It is something completely heavenly. Sometimes it makes me feel devoid of everything that was ever bad or evil, it makes me feel as if I am flying with lights all around me.

I saw the cover of his album ‘Raasta man’ and it totally suits how sometimes I feel while listening to him. The cover showed how a man is carrying a bag and walking in the air above the clouds in front of a full moon with light so bright you could hardly make out the facial features of Lucky Ali. The poster reminded me of the way I feel when listening to his soulful and sometimes sufiyana songs.

The Unworldly World Of Lucky Ali

His songs mostly deal with the theme of a traveller who is here on a journey. And is that not why we all are here in this world, on a journey between birth and death? We experience joy, sadness, friendship, love, and many other emotions with several people we encounter. We forget some people but some remain with us till we die. We have our stories, our tales, and many of us never get time to narrate them to others but we love it when some special people come into our lives and not only just hear them out but also become a part of those tales.

This journey has its ups and downs but each phase is equally important and interesting for us. Because we cannot stay at one place forever which means everything has to move on and ‘hum ruke wahan, par reh naa sake’ on that one particular place which could be painful but could also be a boon for us.

The experience of listening to these songs and digging up all these meanings while closing the eyes and being present in another world is something which only the fans of Lucky Ali could relate to. His voice could heal a broken heart or even could make us cry when we are at our weakest. But whatever we do we sure are glad that there exists music in this world which can be called as unworldly.
