Genre: Thriller
Available on: Netflix
“Savi” is a film that fails to entertain or move its audience, lacking the essential elements that typically draw viewers in. The movie’s tagline, “A Bloody Housewife,” comes across as crude and tasteless, and whoever crafted it should reconsider their career in writing. Despite being based on the French thriller “Anything for Her,” this adaptation falls flat, with Divya Khosla contributing little to its success.
The film’s saving grace, Anil Kapoor, delivers a commendable performance, yet his role is insufficiently substantial to satisfy the audience. Harshvardhan Rane, on the other hand, has almost no significant role, though his limited screen time spares him from further criticism.
The music, including both songs and background score, is dull and uninspiring. The protagonist’s lacklustre dialogue delivery and unrealistic acting fail to evoke any emotion from the audience. It’s evident that if the movie had not been produced by her husband, Bhushan Kumar’s company, Divya Khosla likely wouldn’t have been cast in a leading role.
Raageshwari Loomba returns to the screen after a long hiatus, but her limited screen time and uninteresting dialogues squander her talent. One would expect gripping dialogue in a thriller, but “Savi” disappoints with traditional and predictable lines.
Ultimately, this movie is not recommended as it risks giving viewers a headache and making them question their judgment in selecting a so-called thriller. The bland and punchless ending further adds to the dissatisfaction, making “Savi” a waste of time and money for both producers and moviegoers alike.
I give this movie one star, only because there’s no option for anything lower.
